An elevator pitch is a snappy sentence that sums up your blog; so snappy you could say it between the time you get in and out of an elevator. It’s important to have one because it’s a way of summing up your blog’s raison d’etre, what makes your blog different from others. For exampe, mine is “fighting hangrrr (anger that comes from hunger) snack by snack” because I make food to avoid hangrrr and give tips about how to avoid it. It attracts other people that get hangry and differentiates me from other bloggers.

So funny, we just learned about this in my business communications class! Basically, it’s something you can quickly say about your blog (or yourself, an idea, etc) in the time you ride in an elevator from the first floor to the third floor. The pitch should leave the listener wanting to hear more about your topic.
