This month, the Ad Council, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have partnered with Kitchen PLAY to raise awareness about safe food handling behaviors. It’s part of a national multimedia public service campaign to help families prevent food poisoning in the home. In each post  you’ll find delicious, iconic grilling recipes, along with tips on how to prepare food safely in your kitchen, including:

  1. Clean: Clean kitchen surfaces, utensils, and hands with soap and water while preparing food.
  2. Separate: Separate raw meats from other foods by using different cutting boards.
  3. Cook: Cook foods to the right temperature by using a food thermometer.
  4. Chill: Chill raw and prepared foods promptly.
